Department of Psychology
Theory, Methodology, and Evolutionary Psychology
This research group is involved in the development of both theory and method in psychology. Our research here involves developing theories of emotions and motivation, psychoanalysis and unconscious mental processes, as well as critically assessing the theoretical assumptions underlying research in all fields of psychology. Additionally, this group also develops research methods in psychology as a means of enhancing the scientific study of psychology with respect to both quantitative and qualitative research methods. There is also a strong evolutionary focus, with research examining disgust as a disease-avoidance mechanism.
