Research Interests:My current research interests are in the
field of neuroscience. My broad aim is to determine the underlying neurobiology of drug addiction and associated disorders (psychosis, depression, anxiety) using rodent models. I have focussed on the brain circuitry responsible for drug use
and addiction and have also investigated environmental influences on the rewarding effects of drugs of abuse. My laboratory (Neuropharmacology) is now incorporating molecular neuroscience into the behavioural and autonomic effects of drug
use to understand a greater spectrum of disorders produced by drug misuse.
