Resources - Process Control Simulation Laboratory

As technology becomes more advanced, workers are increasingly operating systems remotely, usually from control rooms. The way in which these control rooms are designed, and the way that workers function within control rooms, can have a significant impact on their ability to work efficiently and accurately, particularly under time constraints. The Process Control Simulation Laboratory is a dedicated facility designed to enable the investigation of different dimensions of the psychology of operating in control room environments.

Here are some examples of control rooms that can be simulated by the Process Control Simulation Laboratory.

eye trackerWe use a range of devices, including eye-trackers and electroencephalography to measure how and what information is being acquired and how well workers can interpret and respond to this information under different conditions.
