Centre for Cognition and its Disorders: Cross Program Support Scheme | 11th January 2012


On December 20th, 2011, Bill Thompson, Paul Sowman, Greg Savage, Lyndsey Nickels, and John Hodges were awarded $14,000 for their project Powering up the right hemisphere when words fail: Augmenting melodic intonation therapy (MIT) with non-invasive brain stimulation to treat impaired left-hemisphere function.

This project will bring together investigators from four programs to investigate whether melodic intonation therapy (MIT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) can jointly recruit the right hemisphere (RH) to assist with impaired left hemisphere functions.
