Experiment Creator
Description
Experiment Creator is an intuitive application for quickly and easily setting up experiments based on presentation of Audio-Visual stimuli. It allows the user to decide on the content to present and then proceeds to collect data from human participants. For example, in one project, students presented pictures of food while manipulating properties of an accompanying soundtrack. The objective of this project was to determine whether music could be used to increase the desirability of visually presented food items.
Experiment Creator was successfully used in CCT371 (Music Perception & Cognition) where groups of students designed experiments using Audio-Video media and tested their own hypotheses about the influence of music on people's interpretation of accompanying visual images. The data obtained were transferred to Excel to further analyze and graph the results.
