Laboratories

Computing Laboratories

All computers have internal hard drives and CD ROM drives, and all are networked.

Two of the first year laboratories are dedicated to Psychology students and consist of 23 Pentium four computers in each. These labs are open between 7am and 10pm during semester and are freely available for students to come and go during the day and evening outside class times.

One perception laboratory dedicated to Psychology students and consisting of 20 Macintosh computers. Access outside class times is available on presentation of student identification to technical staff.

One neuroscience/animal behaviour learning laboratory is dedicated to Psychology students, and consists of 16 Apple Macintosh computers. Access is available during times of supervision and otherwise by prior arrangement with an academic member of staff responsible for that area.

One Divisional laboratory shared by both the Psychology and Linguistic departments consist of 17 Pentium Four computers. Access is available upon special request.

Teaching Laboratories

Unless mentioned in the section on ‘Computing Laboratories’ access will be available during times of supervision and otherwise by prior arrangement with an academic member of staff responsible for that area.

All computing laboratories are also used as teaching laboratories. The psychology wet laboratory, the psychology neurochemistry laboratory, the physiological psychology laboratory and the learning and neuroscience/animal behaviour learning laboratories are also used as teaching laboratories.
