As our courses are accredited and entitle you to become a Registered Psychologist in New South Wales on completion, it is essential to have a four-year undergraduate degree in Psychology that is recognised by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Before applying for the course, you will need to ensure that your university qualification satisfies the requirements of the APS and consequently, the requirements to become registered with the New South Wales Registration Board.

In order to do this you will need to check the APS website under the heading "Studying and Careers; Study Psychology ". Accredited courses provided by Australian Universities are listed at this site. If your qualifications are not listed or you obtained qualifications outside Australia you will need to contact the APS directly and arrange for the Society to assess your psychology qualifications. There is a charge for this service.

Details and an application form are available on the APS website under the heading "Assessing Psychological Qualifications". It is the responsibility of applicants to provide a copy of this assessment with their application. Applications from applicants with overseas qualifications will not be considered without a copy of this assessment.
