The Social Phobia Group Treatment Program
If you choose to participate in our group you will have access to our highly effective 12 week treatment program. This program has been developed through our research unit over the past decade and includes innovative treatment techniques that have been shown to be superior to commonly used treatment approaches. You may also complete some individual sessions prior to commencing the group treatment program.
Each group consists of between six and eight participants, and is led by a therapist with specialist skills in clinical psychology and the treatment of social phobia. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in a program that continues to research ground-breaking methods for maximising people’s success in overcoming their social anxiety.
How do I get involved in this program?
Before you commence treatment you will be asked to complete an assessment interview to determine if the program will be able to address your needs. The cost of the assessment is $150. If we think the program will be beneficial, you will be contacted and offered a spot in the next Social Anxiety Group to commence and asked to complete some questionnaires. In order to help us continue to monitor how effective our treatment is at helping people with social phobia we will also be re-assessing you immediately after the treatment program has finished, and again three months later. We will also ask you to fill out some more questionnaires at these times. Please note that there are no additional fees for attending these follow-up assessments.
What do I do now?
To see if you are suitable for this trial we will need to ask you some questions. Please contact one of our friendly and well trained staff members at the clinic on 9850 8711 for more information.
