Cool Kids Program (Family Version)This package aids the mental health professional in conducting our family-based treatment program for anxious youth. The program includes up to 10 sessions and has been shown to be highly efficacious in a number of outcome evaluations. The program can be conducted in either a group or individual format. The therapist's manual describes in detail how to conduct each session of the program including exercises and comments to assist successful implementation. Purchase of the package also includes one copy of each of the parent and child workbooks to help clients work through the program (see below). Additional copies of the workbooks can be purchased separately. It is strongly recommended that clinicians who wish to conduct the Cool Kids program attend one of our training workshops and clinicians with limited experience in this type of therapy might also wish to consider the professional book, Treating Anxious Children and Adolescents: An evidence-based approach" (see above). WorkshopsWe frequently run clinician-training workshops aimed at the understanding and treatment of various anxiety disorders. A number of topics can be covered including: Assessment and diagnosis of anxiety; Specialised workshops on adult social phobia, generalised anxiety disorder, or panic disorder, Specialised workshops on the nature and treatment of child and adolescent anxiety disorders, or a workshop on prevention programs in anxiety and depression. Workshops are typically one day, but can be organised as more "in-depth" and aim to provide practical skills and knowledge. Workshops are sometimes organised at Macquarie University, but can also be conducted in local areas on request. |
